My Early Years

Let’s start at the beginning. My early years were filled with curiosity and exploration. From the age of 11, I began to shape my identity and discover my passions.

My Journey from 11 to 15 Years Old

As I entered my teenage years, I navigated the challenges and joys of adolescence. This period played a crucial role in shaping the person I am today.

My Journey from 15 to 25 Years Old

During this phase of my life, I embarked on exciting adventures and pursued higher education. These years were marked by personal growth and the pursuit of my dreams.

My 12 Years in the Royal Air Force

From 1966 to 1978, I had the honor of serving in the Royal Air Force. This chapter of my life took me to various locations, each with its own unique experiences:

• Royal Air Force Tern Hill (Shropshire)
• Royal Air Force Gutersloh (West Germany)
• The Services Booking Centre (London)
• Royal Air Force Gan (The Maldives)
• Headquarters 46/38 Group at Royal Air Force Upavon (Wiltshire)

My Escape from the Royal Air Force and Retirement

In 1978, I made the decision to leave the Royal Air Force and embark on a new chapter of my life. Since then, I have enjoyed a fulfilling retirement.

My Voluntary Work

I believe in giving back to the community, and volunteering has been a significant part of my life. Here are some of the organizations I have been involved with:

• Sefton Council for Voluntary Services (Sefton CVS) – Trustee and Director
• Veterans Fund – Secretary
• Merseyside Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen’s Family Association (SSAFA) – Member and Executive Committee Member
• Southport Royal British Legion – Secretary and Treasurer for 2 years
• Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) Formby Branch – Chairman
